Your pet had an accident! He's going into shock! What are you going to do?

Your pet is just like one of your kids. Kids get into things and pets get into things. Sometimes it is real trouble. Preventable accidents are the number one cause of death and disability for pre-senior dogs and cats. You can save a person with CPR and you can save your pet too!

Pet First Aid is the immediate care given to a pet that has been injured or suddenly taken ill. It does not replace vet care, it enhances vet care.

60% of animal hospital visits are emergency in nature and according to the American Animal Hospital Association one out of four pets could be saved if just one Pet First Aid technique was applied prior to getting veterinary treatment. Knowing the skills and techniques of Pet First Aid can mean the difference between life and death, between temporary and permanent disability, between expensive vet bills and reasonable home care and between rapid recovery and long recuperation for your pet.

Learning the skills and techniques of Pet First Aid are best learned by lecture, demonstration and hands-on-skill practice. The skills and techniques of Pet First Aid are similar to human first aid. The key differences are size, anatomy and communication. These differences come in to play when safely assessing and properly applying the skills and techniques of Pet First Aid.

Being trained in Pet First Aid and CPR and keeping good records for your pet's health are some of the best things you can do to be prepared for a medical emergency. Pets cannot talk about how they are feeling. Being trained in Pet First Aid and CPR will allow you to speak for the pets.

There is no doubt you and your pet will experience life with all the ups and downs so being prepared and knowing first aid skills will make the rough spots easier and smoother.
