DOG PARK PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCED

Lafayette, CO - March 3, 2005 - The City of Lafayette is exploring the creation of a dog park. The first step in this process was for City Council to identify seven citizens for the Dog Park Task Force. Task Force members include Bob Cockerill, Doug Conarroe, Elsa Henderson, Rhonnie McCauley, Doug & Laura McIlvaine, and Julie Stein. Councilors Kim Andresky and Kerry Bensman will also sit on the Task Force.

The second step in this process is to invite the public to a meeting to talk with other citizens about this idea. The dog park public meeting will be held from 7-8:30 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at the Lafayette Public Library in the Lower Level Meeting Room (775 W. Baseline Rd., Lafayette). The meeting will be to gather input from residents about what amenities they would like to see in the dog park and where they think the dog park should be located.

Construction could start in 2006 if funds are approved by City Council during the 2006 budget approval process. Questions should be directed to the Lafayette Parks, Open Space & Golf Department at 303-665-4206.
